WHO WE ARE
In the pursuit of rendering higher education bestowed with
excellence to the aspiring youths of the country in the field of
Science, NIST is proud to announce the addition of “National
College for Advanced Learning” as one more wing from the year 2000
duly affiliated to Purbanchal University.
OUR MISSION
National College for Advanced Learning, Faculty of Science aims to
execute B. Sc. Bio-chemistry programs as offered by Purbanchal
University. The programme divided into six semesters with the total
of 124 credit hours plans to enrich the students theoretically as
well as practically in the subject matters of Pure & Applied field
of Bio-chemistry with strong base in Clinical Micro-biology,
Human Anatomy & Physiology, Clinical Nmicro-biology & Pathology,
Immunology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
Our mission in this regard, is to develop the undergraduate students
having the science background as a Bio-chemist with the full
exposure in practical supported by fundamental theories.
Upon the completion of 3 year programme we intend to provide
manpower services who will be capable in handling the
pathological lab in the hospital laboratories, pharmaceutical
industries and the skilled manpower for environmental
organizations related to GOs, NGos, INGs. After the completion of
programme the students will be eligible for M. Sc. in related field
in national as well as international universities. NACAL has the
future plan to conduction 2 years M. Sc. Bio-chemistry too.
STRATEGIES
NACAL’s basic strategy to conduct B. Sc. Bio-chemistry programme
in its own building, is to focus primarily in practicals where
students will be exposed more in applied areas so that they can be
the proven manpower as per the needs of organization, industries and
other institutions like NGOs & INGOs,. The strategy will be to
follow the student centered teaching method in the classroom.
Lectures cum Demonstrations, Practicals, Seminars, Field visits,
Project reports etc. will be the fundamental teaching aids to
exploit the students potentialities at the maximum degree. Students
should go for the internship in the respective specialization during
the third year.
CURRICULUM
B.Sc. (Bio-chemistry) programme is based on the prospectus issued by
Purbanchal University. It is a three year programme divided into 6
semester with a total load of 124 credit hours.
ELIGIBILITY
Students who have passed the intermediate level PCL (10 + 2) or
equivalent examination in Science with 50% or more marks in
aggregate can apply for this programme. Students should clear the
admission tests (written) as supervised by the university as well as
the personal interview held by NACAL.
EVALUATION
Purbanchal University has granted the right to the college to make
the internal assessment of students with 20% weightage. Where as for
the remaining 80% evaluation examination will be conducted by the
university on the external basis independently
Internal assessment of students will be performed through two unit
tests, one terminal and one final test in every semester. Besides
this, due weigtage for internal assessment will be carried out on
the basis of attendances, class participations, paper presentation &
field visit reports too. Students below the set standard will be
disqualified from appearing in external examination.
SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships and awards for deserving students will be as per the
jurisdiction of college
